Remove black specks – by cleaning the hot runner nozzles!

The insulating areas of the hot runner nozzles are the biggest cause of black specks. Our per-tas-based cleaning granulate reaches and cleans these insulating areas.

The nozzles in the hot runner are the biggest cause of streaks, black spots, the so-called black specks (scrap). In the area where the solidified plastic is supposed to insulate the high temperatures of the nozzle from the cavity (insulation area), the solidified, burnt plastic or the previous material is repeatedly carried away by the flowing melt. This results in black spots in the molded part. Every injection molder has to deal with this problem.

Black specks can be removed by cleaning the machine

Remove soiling: Save time and effort with our cleaning granulates

Hardly anyone removes the insulating caps of the nozzles before each material color change – and thus also the black spots. This is very time-consuming as in many cases the hot side has to be removed in order to dismantle the mold plate in toolmaking in order to access the insulating caps.

Even in cases where the mold plate can be dismantled on the machine, removing the insulating caps takes a lot of time. This time can be saved if a foaming chemical cleaning concentrate or cleaning granulate is used. By foaming, the chemicals reach the insulating area, penetrate the material, loosen it from the metal surfaces and purge it out. This free area is then filled with the current melt and the previous material is isolated and can no longer cause scrap with the black specks.
