Do black specks in plastic also occur in your production?
Black dots in plastic – also known as black specks – are common phenomena in the plastics processing industry.
The most effective remedy: a cleaning granulate based on our “syn-tas” cleaner
Black specks in plastic molded parts always occur when the plastic is exposed to high temperatures for too long and burns. This mainly occurs in dead flow zones because the melt does not flow there. Deposits (combustion residues) form and build up layer by layer. If these deposits reach a critical size, parts of them are carried away by the flowing plastic melt. Black spots and specks can then be found in the molded part or in the extrudate.
Deposits can form in:
- Contamination due to flow dead zones
- Black spots due to defective sealing surfaces
- Black spots due to damaged metal surfaces
- Black streaks as a result of damage caused by corrosion and abrasion
Certain plastics tend to form boundary layers on metal surfaces. Here too, the plastic burns and black specks form.
Quick and easy cleaning of the black stripes in the plastic
Our syn-tas-based cleaning granulate achieves the shortest cleaning times!
This means that the formation of burnt plastic – i.e. black streaks – cannot be avoided and these occur again and again. However, to prevent these stains from getting into the product, these deposits must be removed regularly. These deposits can only be removed with a cleaning agent that also reaches these areas: the solution is therefore a foaming, chemical cleaner such as syn-tas.
